Bobby Burchett, age 56, formerly of Sunman

Bobby Dale Burchett, a former Sunman native, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in Savannah, Tennessee.  He was born in Rose Hill, Virginia on February 7, 1968, a son to Kenneth Burchett and Ethelene Grooms.  He graduated Brookville High School in 1986 and later was employed with Konecranes in Cincinnati and then American Central Transport.  Bobby had also been a plumber and was just a jack of all trades.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors in nature as much as possible.  The kids remember his many random visits that included lengthy conversations about topics of all sorts and plenty of candy or cookies “that he had too much of” for the grandkids.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and was known for his contagious and somewhat mischievous laugh.

Those surviving who will cherish Bobby’s memory include his two daughters, Shelly (Cody) Schmidt and Hanna (Ernest) Chasteen; one son, Robby (Amanda) Burchett; 7 grandchildren, Joseph, Mikey, Rylie, Amelia, Ernest, Cora, and Gabe; sister, Amy (Ken) Houston, Andrew (Alison) Grooms, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. His parents preceded him in death.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 3 until time of service at 5 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 8930 N. State Road 101, Sunman, IN 47041.  Cremation will follow and burial will be later in St. Paul Cemetery, Sunman.
