Batesville Middle School volleyball took two from St. Nicholas on Monday.
The Bulldogs won the 7th grade game in two sets, 25-18, 25-19.
The Saints jumped out to a 16-7 lead in the first set before Batesville rallied for the win.
Coach Angie Ehrman says Chesney Placke, Maddie Dole, and Kalli Craig played key roles in the two-set win with their back row passing.
In the front row, Lucy Bailie had 3 kills; Aubrey Kruthaupt had 2 kills, and Lila Wade and Emily Volz each had a kill.
Vivian Duty was strong at the net with 4 good hits and a stuff block.
Top servers were Lila Wade with 7 points including 6 aces; Emily Volz also had 7 points with 3 aces.; Cora Koehne also had 7 service points; Aubrey Kruthaupt chipped in 6 points with 5 aces, and Lucy Bailie added 3 service points.
The BMS 8th graders were victorious in two sets, as well, 25-9, 25-11.
Coach Shelly Prickel says everyone contributed to the team victory.
Emma Campbell earned 13 points including 5 aces from the service line.
Sydney Holtkamp notched 6 aces with her jump serve.
Lauren Ollier (4 points), Addison Glaub, Aubree Roell (each with 3 points), Tessa Rowlett, Lillian Hixson (2 points apiece), and Bailee Adams with 1 point rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs.
Ollier and Cali Oesterling were aggressive at the net, earning 3 and 2 kills, respectively.
Roell, Hixson, Holtkamp, Hannah Bruns, and Tori Meyer each added a kill on the front line.
Holtkamp dished out 4 assists to help set up the offense.
