The Batesville Middle School volleyball team travelled to East Central for a matchup against the conference rival Trojans. The 7th grade team got off to slow start, but figured things out and things started to click from then on out. (Full match recap and stats are provided below.)

From the line, Nya Moon had 7 points with 3 aces. Zoey Mathews, Ella Peetz, and Reese Richey all had 6 service points. Vera Flannery and Adalyn Placke both chipped in 5 service points. The front line was aggressive with 7 team kills. Aldalyn Placke had 3 kills. Vera Flannery, Ella Peetz, Zoey Mathews, and Nya Moon all had 1 kill each. The team is now 7-2.
The 8th grade, however, fell to East Central in 2 sets. After a tough start in set 1, the Bulldogs fought hard in set 2, taking the lead 21-17, and then tying the set, 23-23, but the Trojans battled back and won the set and the match.

Carly Blanton was 11 for 11 from the service line scoring 9 points to lead the team. Miki Gutzwiller was 6 for 6 with 4 points and Breauna Broshears went 5 for 5 with 4 points including 1 ace. Breauna Broshears earned 3 kills at the net, while Carly Blanton added 2. Lydia Niese had an awesome stuff block in the front line to excite the crowd.
