BMS boys hoops takes two from South Decatur

The 7th Grade Batesville Middle School traveled to South Decatur Thursday night and picked up their fourth win of the season by a score of 44-17. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 15-5 lead in the first quarter and wouldn’t look back. The Bulldogs went into half leading 29-14. The Bulldogs would come back from half and only give up 3 points in the second half at the very end of the game.

The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Carson Meyer with 12, Eli Denni with 9, Camden Kaiser with 8, Winston Garrett with 7, Jackson Peetz with 4, and Levi Hunt and Brody Mauk with 2 points.

The 7th Grade is now 4-2 on the season and will host Brookville Middle School on November 21.

The Batesville boys’ 8th-grade basketball team traveled to South Decatur Thursday night for a game against the Cougars and won by a score of 66-31. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 27 to 5 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. At half the Dogs were up 39-12. It was a total team effort with 11 different Bulldogs scoring in the game.
Leading the Bulldogs in scoring was Cole Abrams with 11 points, Carson Hartley with 8, Kamryn Holcomb with 8, Braydin Hughes with 6, Jevan “Buckets” Smith with 6, Ian Hixson with 5, Caleb Laker with 5, James Hughes with 5, Preston Blessing 5, Rylan Yeager 3, and Isaac Weber 2.
This brings the Bulldogs’ record on the season to 5 wins and 1 loss. They play at home on Monday, November 21 when they host Brookville Middle school.
