Batesville’s eighth-grade boys basketball team held on for a 44-38 victory on Tuesday night at Jac-Cen-Del. After a large first-half lead, the Bulldogs dug down deep and thwarted a comeback attempt by the Eagles, using a 91 percent clip from the free throw line to secure the win. The Dogs were perfect from the stripe in the fourth quarter. Carson Meyer led Batesville with 18 points and Jackson Peetz followed at 13 points. Levi Hunt and Winston Garrett added four points and three points respectively while Eli Denni, Brody Mauk, and Camden Kaiser each had two points.
