Bloomington, IN – Lt. Paul Bucher, commander of Indiana State Police Bloomington Post, recently welcomed Senior Trooper Kent Rohlfing and Trooper Ian Portteus to the district after they have been approved for transfer of duty assignment to the area. One of those Troopers is a Ripley County native.

S/Trooper Rohlfing is a native of Napoleon, Indiana where he graduated from Jac-Cen-Del High School in 2002. Rohlfing is no stranger to the district as he graduated from the 69th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in December of 2008 where he was assigned to Bloomington. He left the department in December 2018 for a career opportunity in Florida until his desire to serve brought him to return to Indiana State Police in 2019. Upon his return, he was assigned the Indianapolis District covering Marion County. His vast experience includes being a Field Training Officer (FTO), working on the Meth Suppression Team, Tactical Intervention Platoon, and Controlled Tactics Instructor. Rohlfing who resides in Monroe County also has an uncle and cousin who are both Indiana State Troopers.
