Bill banning gender transition procedures for minors moves to Governor’s desk

Statehouse — A bill that would ban gender transition procedures for those under the age of 18 in Indiana is a step closer to becoming law.

Senate Bill 480 passed the Republican-led Indiana House 65-30 Monday and would stop transgender minors from receiving hormone therapies, puberty blockers, or undergoing gender-affirming surgeries in the Hoosier state.

The bill now moves on to Gov. Eric Holcomb’s desk.

The ACLU of Indiana is asking the Governor to veto the measure.
