BHS Sweeps Ripley Co Track Titles

Batesville hosted and won both ends of the Ripley County track and field meet on Thursday evening.

In the girls meet, it was the Bulldogs 141, the South Ripley Raiders 53.5, the Milan Indians 22, and the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles 11.5.

Batesville’s Abby Miller was the girls meet MVP. Miller won all four of her events. She was the overall champion in the 100m dash (13.14), 200m dash (27.93), the 400m dash (1:00.7) and was the anchor of the 4 x 400m relay.

In the boys meet, it was BHS 131, Ripley 58, Milan 40, and JCD 16.

The Bulldogs’ Noah Davis was boys meet MVP. Davis was the overall champion in the 100m dash (11.84), 200m dash (23.85) and the 4 x 100m relay (45.38).

The Bulldogs had 20 different athletes winning County Championships in 28 events, which means several were multiple winners.  Batesville also had 13 different runners up.

Batesville honored its 10 seniors: Sam Adams, Jaden Basler, Jaxon Brittle, Cannon Clark, Noah Davis, Bayleigh Demaree, Jade Martin, Cash Myers, James Rowland, and Charlotte Trossman.

Next up for BHS track and field is the EIAC Meet. The varsity team will compete on Tuesday at Connersville while the JV will participate at South Dearborn next Saturday.
