Beverly Singer

Beverly Singer, 79, of Moores Hill, Indiana, passed away Monday October 25, 2021 at Envive Care Center in Lawrenceburg. Bev was born February 1, 1942 in Inglewood, California and was the only daughter of John and Flora Scarich. She married Paul Singer on December 28, 1963 and they were married for 47 years until his death on June 21, 2012. She has three children; Beth Singer (David Gallivan) of Duarte, California, Allen Singer (Deanna Singer) of Covington, Kentucky, and Julie Singer (Joseph Warmelink) of Durham, North Carolina. She has six grandchildren: Alexander, Nicole and Christopher Gallivan; Alayna and Zachary Singer, and Leo Shear.

Bev graduated from Texas Christian University in 1964 with a bachelor’s degree in teaching and taught 5th grade for several years. She moved with Paul to Cincinnati in 1967, and then to Moores Hill in 1978. She enjoyed family activities, camping in Michigan, and reading. She was an entrepreneur and sold successfully on ebay from early 2001 until March, 2021. She very generously gave of her knowledge, time, and finances to help her family. She encouraged her children to pursue their dreams and did everything she could to help.

Bev was also an avid fan of Star Trek. Paul and Bev started watching Star Trek in 1966 and started attending conventions in the early 1970s. She actively collected Star Trek items including fanzines, photos, film clips and other memorabilia. She had friends all over the world who she kept in communication with, and was instrumental in helping to preserve these early pieces of Star Trek history.

She was a very loving and supportive mother and will be greatly missed.

Bev died peacefully with her children at her side.

A Funeral Mass will be Friday, October 29, 11am at St. Mary’s Church at 203 Fourth Street, Aurora, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, please consider the financial needs of the family.
