She was born December 28, 1931, in Floyd County, Indiana, daughter of the late Oscar Belviy and Esther (Richert) Belviy.

After his death in 1999, Betty assumed the role of matriarch of the large Wismann family and would frequently host large family parties and events, especially her annual event between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Though she never played, she liked to watch golf, especially her favorite, Tiger Woods. Betty enjoyed playing cards, particularly “Crazy Rummy” and would take up a challenge whenever offered, earning her the family title “Big Kahuna.” She liked to cook, and loved traveling. More than anything, Betty loved her family.
