Betty Jane Forsyth

forsythBetty Jane Forsyth, 92, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 in Lawrenceburg, IN.

She was born May 19, 1924 in Aurora, IN, daughter of the late James F. Steele and Luella R. Steele.

Betty worked as a Legal Secretary for Frost & Jacobs Law Firm, retiring after many years of service.

She was a member of Aurora Church of Christ, was in the church choir and took care of the church bulletins for many years. She graduated from Ivy Tech at the age of 64 and worked at the IRS, retiring at age 80. She liked to sing and dance, enjoyed gardening, cross word puzzles and word scrambles. She loved to be on the computer, sew, crochet and knit. She was a “Polly Anna” “Mary Sunshine”, she was always positive and always smiling. She was a 5″1′ tower of strength, and she will be greatly missed.

Surviving are daughters, Regina A. (Ronald) Bickers and Debra Ann Hogsten, grandchildren, Jennifer Hogsten, Ronald Bickers, Robert (Rebecca) Bickers, William Hatton, Joseph (Jessica) Hatton, Sara (Ronnie) Anders, 14 great grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Luella Steele, her loving husband of 57 years, William Forsyth and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Friends will be received Wednesday, December 21, 2016, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Aurora Church of Christ, 814 Sunnyside Ave, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the church on Thursday at 11:00 am with Pastor Brian Dunaway officiating.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana 47001.
