(Batesville, IN) – Batesville City Council honored outgoing Mayor Mike Bettice and District 2 councilman Tracy Rohlfing at Monday night’s meeting.

It was the final session for both Bettice and Rohlfing, who chose not to run for re-election this year.

They each served two, four-year terms between 2016 and 2023.

Bettice presented Rohlfing with a plaque in appreciation of his years of service on council.

Rohlfing paid tribute to Bettice during the presentation.

“He’s a gentleman, he gets things done in a very gentle, nice way, and I generally believe he’s leaving the city in better shape than when he came in,” Rohlfing said. “And I mean that from not only the physical things you’ve seen, but also financially.”

Council president and Mayor-elect John Irrgang also presented a similar plaque to his predecessor.
