Bernard L. Moorman

Bernard Louis Moorman, 67, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at his home in Severna Park, Maryland.

Born September 5, 1957, he is the son of Ralph and Mary (Effing) Moorman. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years after graduating from high school before he was honorably discharged. He married Laura Manion in 1982 in Waterville, New York, before they separated in 1998. He continued to serve the country in defense contracting at the Defense Information Systems Agency, retiring in 2019.

Bernard was an avid sports fan and could spend hours recounting obscure sports trivia for every sport from professional baseball to college football. He was known for his compassionate, caring nature, who would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. As befitting a father of two, he had a tremendous sense of humor.

He is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Langdon and Tamara Moorman; son-in-law Michael Langdon; grandchildren James, Caleb, and Adam Langdon; and siblings Teresa Winkler, Richard Moorman, John Moorman, George Moorman, and Mark Moorman. Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mary (Effing) Moorman, and his ex-wife, Laura Manion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 10:00am in Holy Family Catholic Church in Oldenburg, Indiana. The burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.   For online condolences go to www.weigelfh.com.
