BCSD responded to a shots fired call late Sunday night.

Columbus, IN—Deputies were called to S. Lake Dr. after EOC received a call of a domestic disturbance with one of the parties involved being shot on Sunday. When Deputies arrived they located a female, Hannah Tamer Bowman, 37. Bowman stated that she had shot her husband during an altercation while he was sitting in her vehicle.

The husband, age 49, did have injuries to his shoulder but refused medical treatment. He is not cooperating with authorities at the time.

As the investigation continued, Mrs. Bowman’s brother, Jonathan A. Lawburgh, 35, Scipio, showed up at the residence and, at one point, started to fight with investigating deputies and other first responders.

After the physical altercation occurred, Lawburgh was detained and now faces preliminary charges for:

Battery on a Public Safety Official (two counts),
Obstruction of Justice,
Disorderly Conduct, and
Resisting Law Enforcement.

He has since been released on bond.

Evidence at the scene matched statements given by Mrs. Bowman. Alcohol was present at the scene. Mrs. Bowman admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages prior to the incident and tested .215 on a PBT.

After all the evidence and statements were taken, Mrs. Bowman was arrested on preliminary charges of:

Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon.

She is currently being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.
