(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Community School Corporation will join schools from around the world to celebrate International Walk to School Day on May 17, 2023.
Students from all four schools are invited to walk to school on the morning of May 17 along with parents, teachers, and community leaders.
Walk to School Day events raise awareness of the need to create safer routes for walking and bicycling and emphasize the importance of increasing physical activity among children, as well as pedestrian safety, traffic congestion, and concern for the environment.
The events build connections between families, schools, and the broader community.
Community members are asked to be mindful of the extra pedestrians involved in the “walking school bus” on May 17 between the hours of 7 am and 8 am.
