(Batesville, IN) – Batesville VFW #3181 celebrated the United States Marine Corps (U.S.M.C.) 248th birthday on Friday, November 10.
Residents of Batesville, Greensburg, Brookville, and other nearby communities attended.
Ison’s Family Pizza delivered food for the event, which is held each year to mark the Marine Corps birthday.
The service branch was founded on November 10, 1775, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Everyone stood when a Moment of Silence was observed for Marine veterans Dick Meyer of Batesville, who passed away in April, and Sunman’s Steve Todd, who passed in July.
Don Eisert has organized the event for 25 or more years and says he plans to do it again next year.
