Batesville varsity baseball drops final two games at Doc Morris Invite

Batesville varsity baseball watched the game get away from them, giving up 4 runs in the final 3 innings of their 7-2 loss to Beechwood (KY) at the Doc Morris Invite on Saturday

Sam Stacy led things off on the hill for the Tigers. Stacy surrendered two runs on four hits over five innings, striking out one.

Jaiden Kuria led things off on the mound for the Bulldogs. The pitcher allowed four hits and three runs over two innings, striking out two. Cade Kaiser and Carson Schneider entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and two innings, respectively.

Jack Grunkemeyer, Charlie Schebler, Dane Dudley, Alex Baumer, and Willy Sherwood each collected one hit to lead Batesville.

Beechwood racked up ten hits in the game. Nazario Pangallo, Cameron Boyd, Matthew Cottengim, and Kolten Craycraft all collected multiple hits for the team.

In their second game of the day, Batesville dropped a close one to George Rogers Clark (KY), 3-2.

The pitching was strong on both sides. George Rogers Clark pitchers struck out 11, while Batesville’s sat down six.

Alex Baumer led things off on the mound for the Bulldogs. The right-hander allowed three hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Max Baumer threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
