Batesville to host Indianapolis Symphony performance, fireworks display July 1

Batesville, IN — Batesville will host the Star-Spangled Indianapolis Symphony event on Thursday, July 1 at 8 pm at Bill Gillespie Soccer Park on Delaware Road.

This will be the third event in a series hosted by the City of Batesville, the Batesville Area Arts Council, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO) and Hillenbrand. The first two concerts attracted nearly 3,000 people to Batesville. Last year’s event was called off because of the pandemic.

The event is free and open to the public and will feature the orchestra’s performance along with a professional fireworks display. The venue will open at 6 pm. The program will feature patriotic tunes and orchestra showpieces led by ISO Resident Conductor Jacob Joyce and featuring concertmaster Kevin Lin as soloist.

COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place to ensure a safe experience for everyone in attendance.
