Connersville, IN – The Batesville High School swim team made the trip to Connersville High School to compete in a 3-way meet with the hosting Spartans and the Eastern Hancock Royals.
The girls left Connersville with their heads high, narrowly defeating their EIAC rival Connersville by a score of 116-112. They also defeated Eastern Hancock handedly by a final score of 129-82. These wins were due large in part to winning 2 of the 3 relay races on the night! With these wins, the Lady Bulldogs improve to a perfect 4-0 start to the season.
Despite their best effort throughout all races, the boys dropped both meets on the night. Things didn’t go their way at times, like when they seemingly won the 200 medley relay, but were disqualified due to an early start. Matthew Lambert did however find success in his race, winning the only individual race on the night for the boys in the 50 freestyle.
Coach McMullen had this to say about the men’s effort, “our boys came ready to race. With five members on the team, we know we’ll drop meets but we’re looking at how we can improve week to week and meet to meet.”
Below are some winners from the meet along with notable accomplishments.
