(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Community School Board and the corporation’s teachers have shaken hands on a one-year Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) which was ratified by the board Monday night.
“The longest a contract can be per statute is two years, but we agreed upon – and the board has approved – a one-year CBA. And I’m proud to report that basically all of the new money – 100 percent of the new money that we’ve collected from the State of Indiana now goes back into teachers salaries and benefits,” said Superintendent Paul Ketcham.
“We run a very cash balance, we’re a very lean operation at the Batesville Community School Corporation,” Ketcham added. “We ask a lot of our professionals, our teachers, so it makes me proud as a superintendent that we can compensate them to the best of our abilities.”
Ketcham appeared on Wednesday’s edition of The Daily Pod.
