(Batesville, IN) – There’s a local connection to this year’s Race Across America coast-to-coast charity bicycle ride.

Batesville High School assistant cross country coach Thomas Essick is a member of Team Lithko, which is riding to raise money for Concrete Cares.  That organization helps the families of children battling cancer.

Essick will ride into Batesville at an undetermined time Thursday, with a ride exchange to take place at the high school.

You can follow Team Lithko’s progress on Facebook.

Race Across America is billed as the world’s toughest bicycle race.

It kicked off in Oceanside, California and will end at the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
