Batesville MS volleyball takes two from South Ripley

The 7th grade Batesville Middle School volleyball team stepped up their game to defeat South Ripley 25-14, 25-19 Tuesday night.

The team did a great job passing and digging the volleyball.

Breauna Broshears led with 2 kills and Maliyah Morton had 1 aggressive hit for a kill. Serving for the team was Izzy Dierckman with 8 points including 7 aces. Carly Blanton & Kiersten Luers each had 6 points. While Broshears and Riley Balser each chipped in 5 service points.

The 7th grade team is now 2-0.

The Batesville Middle School 8th grade volleyball team notched their first win of the season over South Ripley with a solid, all-around team effort.

The scores were 25-20; and 25-14.

Despite an off-night serving, the Bulldogs were able to rack up a pretty impressive offensive showing vs. the visiting Lady Raiders. Abby Miller scored 7 consecutive service points in set one including 3 aces to lead the team. Katie Wilhelm added 6 points including 3 aces from the service line, while Molly Gessell’s streak of 4 consecutive service points put the match out of reach in the 2nd set.

Gesell continued to dominate in the front line earning an impressive 6 kills in only 9 swings. Jersey Trenkamp pounded 3 kills, while Madi Dierckman, Abby Miller, Leah Meyer, and Ellie Walke each chipped in with 2. Jolene Dirkhising and Chloe Miller contributed with 1 kill a piece.

The BMS 7th and 8th grade teams will face Greendale on Thursday.
