The Batesville Middle School Wrestling team kicked off their season last Friday with a 4-way dual meet against Switzerland County, South Dearborn, and Milan. The Bulldogs finished the meet with a 1-2 record, defeating Switzerland County but falling to Milan and South Dearborn.
Several Bulldogs had outstanding individual performances, going undefeated on the night: Huston Cook, Wes Meyer, Edwin Hernandez, and Bronson Winsted.
Six of our wrestlers competed in the IHSWCA Columbus North State Qualifier, where they had the chance to earn a spot at the Indiana Middle School State Finals in February. We are proud to announce that Paul Brewer, Edwin Hernandez, and Huston Cook all qualified for the state finals! Paul and Edwin were champions in their weight classes, and Huston earned a third-place finish. Parker Smith, Chucky Kline, and Logan Waller also had impressive showings, picking up wins in the tough competition.
