The 7th grade volleyball team had a slow start Monday against St. Nicholas and lost the 1st game 12-25. They rallied back & played more aggressively to win the 2nd game 25-23. But then couldn’t continue that momentum and lost 3-15. The team is now 1-1 on the season.
From Shelly Prickel, BMS 8th Grade Coach:
The 8th Grade BMS Lady Bulldogs were defeated by St. Nicholas. Scores were 21-25, 12-25. Despite a strong start, the team struggled with serve reception toward the end of set 1. In the second set, the team lacked consistency and confidence to overcome the Saints’ offensive pressure. Carly Blanton and Maci Smith both had 8 good serves including an ace scoring 6 and 4 points respectively. Lydia Niese led the front line attack with 3 kills, while Breauna Broshears chipped in with 1 kill at the net.
Both teams hope to rebound as they travel to South Ripley for their next match.
