The Batesville Middle School 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team placed third last Saturday in the annual South Ripley Invitational.
Batesville fell to a talented South Ripley squad 48-28 in the opening round after challenging the Raiders for nearly three full quarters. Carson Meyer led the Bulldogs with 14 points while Jackson Peetz added 7 points, Levi Hunt had five points and both Winston Garrett and Eli Denni added a point apiece.
In the consolation game, Batesville blew out Waldron 45-13. Garrett and Denni posted 11 points and 10 points respectively while Hunt added seven points. Meyer, Peetz, and Brody Mauk scored four points apiece, Max Walter had three points and Liam Wagner chipped in two points.
Batesville (1-1) is back in action on Tuesday, November 7th at home against South Ripley.
