Batesville girls 4x800m relay sets meet and stadium record at East Central Invitational

On Friday night, the Batesville boys and girls varsity track teams competed at the 8-team East Central Invitational.

The Lady Bulldogs started off the night on the oval in the 4 x 800m relay, not only winning the race, but breaking the meet and stadium record (from 2017, held by EC) with a season-personal best performance of 9:48.3. The team was made up of Megan Allgeier, Kaylynn Bedel, Kaylie Raver, and Ava Hanson.

Batesville also captured both the boys and the girls 3200m run championships. Kaylynn Bedel and Emma Weiler fought to the finish line with Kaylynn nudging out Emma by .18 of a second, winning with a time of 12:21.57.

In the boys 3200m run, Jake Chapman was the champion for the boys with a personal best run of 10:00.46. And in the field events, it was Nadine Davis who won Pole Vault at 9’0″ and Ayden Eckstein out-jumped the field in High Jump with a leap of 6’0″.

Batesville will be hosting the County meet on Thursday night. Senior athletes will be honored at the end of the meet. The action starts at 5:15 pm.
