The Batesville Junior Varsity Bulldogs easily dispatched the Milan Junior Varsity Indians on Wednesday, 10-2.
Milan got on the board in the first inning after Zander Burkett singled, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the first inning, Batesville went back into the lead after James Hughes singled down the left field line, Milan committed an error, Max Meyer singled down the left field line, and Isaac Lemmel singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
The Bulldogs added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Gage Schomber singled to left field, Hughes singled to left field, Jackson Elston singled to center field, and , each scoring one run.
Batesville added one run in the third after William Huber grounded out.
Tiago Batta earned the win for the Bulldogs. The starter surrendered five hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking one. Burkett took the loss for Milan. The hurler went one inning, surrendering eight runs (two earned) on seven hits, striking out one and walking one. Levi Hunt collected the save.
Batesville piled up nine hits in the game. Hughes led the Bulldogs with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Eli Denni and Hunt each stole multiple bases for Batesville.
Burkett led the Indians with two hits in two at bats. Seth Thomas and Burkett each drove in one run for Milan.
Batesville will travel to Franklin County for their next game on Thursday.
