The Batesville High School varsity girls’ basketball team battled hard but came up short in a 52-47 loss at North Decatur.
The Bulldogs trailed 17-12 after the first quarter and couldn’t quite close the gap, despite a strong effort. North Decatur held a slim 25-23 lead at halftime and extended it to 40-36 by the end of the third quarter.
Maddie Haskamp led the Bulldogs with an impressive double-double, scoring 16 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Sophie Gesell and Lydia Haskamp each added 8 points, while Marlee Obermeyer contributed 6 points.
