Batesville Cross Country

It was such a beautiful first day of fall and the Batesville Cross Country team got to spend the morning at the Connersville 14-team Invitational and race in some amazing weather. Individual awards were given to the top 25 and the Bulldogs had 12 runners placed in the top 25 and both the boys and the girls placed runner-up overall. 

The boys raced first at 9 am with Jake Chapman leading the way for the Dogs placing 4th (17:19).  Others placing in the top 25 were: Isaac Trossman, 7th, Cannon Clark, 12th, Ethan Rahschulte, 18th, Benjamin Adams, 22nd and Jaden Basler, 23rd. Just missing out on the top 25 and finishing out the varsity 7 for Batesville was Deev Ranka who placed 27th. The boys finished 2nd behind Richmond 33-63, with Northeastern in 3rd with 87 points.

On the girls side, they also had 6 runners placing in the top 25 with Lexiyne Harris leading the way for Batesville placing 6th (21:02). Others finishing in the top 25 are: Megan Allgeier, 11th, Sam Adams 14th, Kaylie Raver 17th, Bayleigh Demaree, 18th and Charlotte Trossman, 19th. Finishing out the top 7 varsity spots was Isabel Raab, placing 30th. The girls also placed in 2nd as a team behind East Central, 21-66, with Centerville in 3rd with 93 points. Great job Dogs!

Congratulations to Benjamin Adams, Brody Gibson, and Manan Patel for racing personal bests!

The Dogs get a very short break as they race again on Tuesday, which is the Batesville Invitational. The seniors will be honored and recognized at the invitational.  The action begins at 5:30, starting with the boys’ race.
