
(Batesville, IN) – Batesville City Council approved a resolution Monday night authorizing the application for a Community Development Block Grant through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
The city is applying for a $625,000 grant as part of the Main Street Revitalization Program. It requires a $125,000 match on the city’s part.
If the grant application is approved, awarded funds would be used to make improvements downtown, including pedestrian corridors from Pearl to George streets near Inspiration Park, with green spaces and plaza areas.
The application is due June 7.
A public hearing on the grant application is scheduled for Noon next Wednesday, May 20 in city council chambers.
