Greensburg hosted the EIAC Junior High Cross Country Championships Monday. Batesville’s boys and East Central’s girls won the 2021 titles.
Batesville won the boys championship by two points with 52. Greensburg and Connersville both tallied 54, but the Pirates earned second on a tiebreaker. The Bulldogs Cannon Clark was the boys’ individual champion with a time of 11:19.
East Central was the girls winner with 35 points, eight ahead of runner up Batesville. The Trojan Callie Bentley was the EIAC girls’ MVP with a winning time of 11:59.
Boys team results: Batesville 1st/52, Greensburg 2nd/54 (by tiebreaker), Connersville 3rd/54, Benjamin Rush 4th/93, East Central 5th/123, Greendale 6th/148 and Franklin County/South Dearborn NTS.
Girls team results: East Central 1st/35, Batesville 2nd/43, Benjamin Rush 3rd/95, Connersville 4th/96, Greensburg 5th/143, Greendale 6th/150, South Dearborn 7th/170 and Franklin County NTS.
