On Saturday, Batesville Intermediate School (BIS), Batesville Middle School (BMS), and Batesville High School (BHS) archers swept the second annual Ripley County Archery Tournament, repeating their wins from last year.
BIS finished with a team score of 3049, beating the South Ripley Raiders by 639 points. The girls were led by 5th graders Harper Buckley and Payten Sarringhaus, with individual scores of 255. Sophia Lecher, Savannah Siebert, and Maxie Amberger also contributed to the team score. The boys were led by 5th grader Ayden Schneider with a tournament-high score of 272 in the boys elementary division. Wyatt Magee, Bruce Li, Levi Trenkamp, August Robben, and Emmitt Rogier also placed in the top 10 and contributed to the team score.
BMS finished the day with a season-high score of 3335, beating five other middle school teams. BMS was led by 8th grader Charlie Pulskamp, with a tournament-high 283 in the Middle School boys division. Varshath Rajesh, Cole Brougher, William Patterson, Trace Scott, and Ethan Vohland all scored for the Bulldogs. Lady Bulldog Alexia Lykins led all Middle School girls with an individual score of 283 to help the Bulldogs. Gracie Doll, Haylie Spangler, Brooklyn Ludwig, and Grace Magee also contributed to the team score.
BHS took to the range with a team score of 3363. BHS beat 2nd place South Ripley by 210 points. Freshman Quinten Sarringhaus led all BHS archers with an individual score of 287, with Sophomore Lydia Haskamp winning the day as the top female archer with 285 out of 300 possible points. Robert McKell, Noah Ramsey, Blake Belter, Macy Young, Henry Koehne, Conner Foster, Carson Weberding, Ben Kuntz, Nadine Davis, and Alys Cochran all contributed to the team score.
The Batesville Bulldog Archery Teams travel to Louisville, Kentucky, on May 11th to participate in the NASP Eastern Nationals.
