The Batesville 8th Grade Boys Basketball team traveled to Columbus Northside and came out with an exciting 61-43 victory.
Batesville had the lead early as it was a slow start for both teams offensively with a score of 7-4 after 1. Columbus North really got going in the 2nd quarter hitting three 3’s and had a 6 point lead with 45 seconds left going into the half. Batesville was able to create a couple of turnovers and cut the lead to 2 points going into the half with a Cade Kaiser buzzer-beater. That momentum carried into the second half. The Bulldogs outscored their opponent 42-22 in the second half and ran away with the victory.
The second-half surge was fueled by high energy on the defensive side which caused a lot of turnovers as well as Will Jaisle’s 4 3-pointers offensively. Offensively Batesville was led by Cade Kaiser with 19 points, followed by Will Jaisle (14), Gage Pohlman (9), Jacob Stenger (9), Grant Goldsmith (8), and Carson Schneider (2).
