(Lawrenceburg, IN) – Dearborn County-based attorney Garrett Bascom has launched his campaign to replace outgoing State Representative Randy Lyness (R-West Harrison).

Bascom has served as Secretary of the Dearborn County GOP and is a former 9th Congressional District Young Republican Chair.

He has also served in the Indiana Attorney General’s Office and as Deputy Prosecutor for Dearborn-Ohio County before launching his own private practice in 2023.

Several local leaders have endorsed Bascom, including Dearborn Commissioners Allen Goodman, Rick Probst and Jim Thatcher; Dearborn County Council President Liz Morris; Dearborn County Council Vice President Tim Doll, and former Dearborn County Sheriff Dave Lusby.

“After much prayer and consideration, I am excited to announce our campaign for State Representative,” said Garrett Bascom. “I am thankful for Randy’s service to our community, and I will continue to be a conservative advocate for the 68th District in Indianapolis. I will lead the charge fighting for safer streets, better schools, and our traditional Hoosier values.”
