Barnhorst, Vicky

Victoria “Vicky” Barnhorst, 78 years old of St. Leon, IN, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022. Vicky met the love of her life, Bob, at Westwood Show, a movie theater in Western Hills, and after that they spent every day together. They loved to water ski on the Ohio River and spent every weekend camping at Indian Lakes in Sunman. Vicky owned horses and belonged to the Gymkhana Horse Club in Miamitown where they participated in barrel races among other events. She was a loving wife and adoring mother; there was no one better. Many will remember Vicky as the proud owner of Fox’s Den for 20 years. She and Bob bought the restaurant in 1975 when they moved to St. Leon from Cincinnati. Vicky loved her job at Fox’s Den where she fried up burgers in the kitchen and offered half price meals to the police. Bob was so proud of Vicky and the effect she had on the people that worked at Fox’s Den. He called it the “Happy Smile Club”, as many people would work for a few months to earn money and then get braces.

Vicky will be deeply missed by her husband of 62 years, Bob Barnhorst; her children Kathy (Tom) Klump of New Alsace, Connie Edmundson of Batesville, and Joe (Cheryl) Barnhorst Sunman; grandchildren Jennifer, Janice, and Tom Klump, Bob and Doug Edmundson, and Tim and Laura Barnhorst; and eight great grandchildren. Vicky is preceded in death by her parents Vera and Russell Jones.
