Barbara Marie Croweak, age 72 of Brookville

Barbara Marie Croweak, 72, of Brookville, Indiana, passed peacefully surrounded by the ones she loved most on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at her home.

Barbara was born on May 10, 1954, the cherished daughter of Robert Mushrush and Shirley Eglseder. She went on to marry the love of her life, Michael “Big Mike” Croweak Sr., and together they cherished over 51 loving years of marriage. Together, they created a life centered around their family and filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Barbara retired as a secretary from J & J Packaging. She was a bright and incredibly intelligent woman who was always willing to help others. She had a kind and selfless heart and consistently put the needs of others before her own.

Family was Barbara’s first priority in life. She treasured being a wife, mother, and grandmother and loved her family more than anything. She also had an open-door policy when it came to her son’s friends, always making them feel welcome in her home and treating them like family. She was the first to offer a warm meal and loved hosting her son’s friends, creating a home where everyone knew they were welcome.

Barbara was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and especially enjoyed cheering on Joe Burrow. She also enjoyed spending summers camping and enjoying days at the lake on the houseboat with all her family. Those who knew her will remember her for her bright spirit, generous heart, kindness, and the unconditional love she showed to the people around her. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Barbara leaves behind her loving husband of over 51 years, Michael Donald “Big Mike” Croweak Sr. of Brookville; her son, Michael “Little Mike” Croweak Jr. and his wife, Kristin, of Loveland, Ohio; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Easton and Madelyn Croweak.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Eglseder; her father, Robert Mushrush; her aunt, Patricia L. Innis; and her brother, Butch Stoeppel.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, Indiana.
