Banks announces U.S. Senate bid

Columbia City, IN — Northern Indiana Congressman Jim Banks (R-03) has announced his bid for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Mike Braun.

Banks is the first Republican to file for the Senate race in Indiana.

He currently represents all or parts of Allen, Adams, Jay, Huntington, Whitley, Kosciusko, Noble, DeKalb, and LaGrange counties in Congressman.

Braun is leaving the Senate to run for Indiana Governor.

The other declared Republican candidates in the gubernatorial race are Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch and Fort Wayne businessman Eric Doden.
