Greensburg, In. — The South Decatur High School Optimist Club’s Youth of the Month for May is senior Nick Bales.
Nick is the son of Tim and Lee Ann Bales and wants to attend Indiana University with the goal of becoming a pediatrician. He is a member of the South Decatur Varsity Golf Team, SADD, Key Club and has participated in highway clean up and peer mentoring.
His favorite teacher is Mrs. Gross because of her ability to push him to learn about the medical field. He admires her for the time she spends with students explaining concepts and procedures.
