Attempted abduction foiled by quick thinking kid

Miamitown, OH—Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly approached a 10-year-old boy and asked him to get in his van in an intersection less than 500 feet from Miamitown Elementary School Wednesday morning.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office stated the 10-year-old victim was walking down the street when he was approached by an older man in a rusty green-colored van. The man asked the boy if he wanted a ride. When the boy said no, the suspect then offered him candy if he got into the car. The victim told the suspect no and that he was going to call the police. The suspect then fled the area, the Sheriff’s Office said.
