Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

On May 2nd, 2018, George’s Pharmacy in Sunman was robbed at gunpoint and multiple controlled substances were taken. According to a probable cause affidavit that was written and filed on May 4th by Detective Abe Hildebrand, Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, Rosa Zinser was arrested and is awaiting formal charges to be filed by the prosecutor’s office. The affidavit explains Zinser had been denied medication from a pain clinic that she had been going to and then additionally at two emergency rooms prior to committing the robbery.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office met with witnesses at George’s Pharmacy who indicated that a gun was pointed at an employee and drugs were demanded. After being provided multiple prescription medications, Zinser left the scene in a car described by employees. Zinser was located a short time later at a residence in Dearborn County and taken into custody without incident. According to the affidavit, officers collected a h andgun and numerous prescription medications at the residence. Detective Hildebrand indicated further that Zinser had to be transported to a local hospital for an apparent opiate overdose. Zinser is currently in the Ripley County Jail awaiting formal charges. Prosecuting Attorney, Ric Hertel, stated that once all the information is received from law enforcement it will be reviewed for potential charges.

Zinser is presumed innocent and charges are merely accusations at this point.
