Area unemployment up slightly in February

Southeastern IN — The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says all four area counties saw a slight uptick in unemployment in February.

Decatur County had the lowest jobless rate in the area at 3 percent, which was up from 2.8 percent in January, but still below the state average of 3.1 percent.

Dearborn County checked in at 3.5 percent – up from 3.3 percent the month before.

Franklin County was at 3.7 percent, which was up from 3.5 percent.

And Ripley County came in at 3.9 percent in February – up from 3.7 the month before.
