Area under an increased fire danger today

Southeastern IN — The National Weather Service says Ripley, Franklin, and Dearborn counties are under an increased fire danger today.

Forecasters say northeast winds will be around 10 to 20 mph with gusts upwards of 25 mph.

In addition, low relative humidity is expected.

The resulting dry conditions combined with gusty winds and low humidity mean there’s an increased fire danger.

Fires that start could spread out of control.

Due to these conditions and factors, outdoor burning is not recommended today.
