Many in the area saw rain showers fall on Sunday and the National Weather Service says an unsettled week of weather is ahead.
Summer-like moisture returned to end the weekend and does create several chances for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall this week. A Hazardous Weather Outlook was issued by the National Weather Service in Wilmington this morning for the entire listening area and most likely will remain in effect through the rest of the week.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected today with gusty winds and locally heavy rain being the primary threats.
