
Dearborn County Emergency Management is assessing damage and working to restore services after overnight severe weather resulted in at least one person suffering injuries.
Officials say that person declined medical treatment.
Several homes along Drewersburg Road in eastern Franklin County were heavily damaged during the overnight storms.
Radar-indicated tornados prompted tornado warnings early Thursday morning for Ripley, Franklin, Decatur and Dearborn counties.
There have also been numerous reports of flooding throughout the area.
Emergency officials in Dearborn County believe the storm resulted in a tornado touchdown in the southern part of the county, but they say a formal determination is pending.
The National Weather Service will conduct storm damage surveys to figure out the extent and nature of the storm’s impact.
