Ardella Redmon, age 99, of Brookville, Indiana died early Friday April 5, 2024 at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.
Born February 26, 1925 in Letcher County, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Charlie & Lizzie (Davis) Lewis.
Ardella was a homemaker, raising her children and then several other family members as her own. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing cards, Chinese checkers, and going to yard sales; but what she cherished most was her family.
Survivors include four children, Wanda Reese of Brookville, Indiana, James R. Maggard of Hamilton, Ohio, Dewey Calihan of Brookville, Indiana and Belinda Calihan of St. Petersburg, Florida; seven grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren; as well as one brother, Darrell (Joan) Lewis of West College Corner, Indiana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Clyde Calihan, John Hart and John Redmon; a daughter, Dorena Kay Bristow, a granddaughter, Rebecca (Reese) Retherford, a great-grandson, Josh Bristow, as well as three sisters and one brother.
Family & friends may visit from 9:00 until 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 10066 Oxford Pike, Brookville.
Randy Edwards & Pastor Kevin Waltz will officiate the Funeral Service at 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Brookville. Burial will then follow in Scipio Union Cemetery in Okeana, Ohio where her great-grandsons, Nicholas Retherford, Zachary Sanders, Dalton Childers, Brady Logan, Jon Calihan and Keith Taulbee will serve as pallbearers.
