ECHS AquaTrojans traveled to Shelbyville on Thursday to battle the Golden Bears. Both squads swam well but girls won the meet while the boys lost by one point. The scores were: Girls EC 107 Shelbyville 76. Boys Shelbyville 92, EC 91.
Congrats to Jacob Weber for setting a new school record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.54. The previous mark, set in 2006 by Kyle House, was 54.86. Way to go Jacob!!
Individual winners include: Alexis deLong-200 IM, 100 Freestyle; Jackson Ketcham-200 IM, 100 Butterfly; Olivia Nixon- 50 Freestyle; Jacob Weber-50 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke (NEW SCHOOL RECORD!!!!); Mackenzie Schantz-100 Butterfly, 500 Freestyle; Alex Ketcham-100 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke.
EC won 5/6 relays on the night.
EC AquaTrojans swam at the Connersville Invitational on Saturday and came away as champions!! With teams missing due to poor weather conditions, EC out dueled the field of Connersville and Lawrenceburg.
Girls Scores: East Central 137, Connersville 104, Lawrenceburg 50.
Boys Scores: East Central 149, Connersville 103, Lawrenceburg 34.
Individual Invitational Champions include: Mackenzie Schantz-200 Freestyle; Cai Fox-200 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle; Alexis deLong-200 IM, 100 Butterfly; Jackson Ketcham-200 IM, 100 Butterfly; Olivia Nixon-50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle; Ethan Ayers-Edds-1 meter diving; Jacob Weber-100 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke; Lydia Weber-500 Freestyle; Hannah Weber-100 Backstroke; Alex Ketcham-100 Breaststroke.
EC won 5/6 relays to bring home the championship.
East Central will be back in action, after the new year, at the 2017 EIAC Championships hosted by Greensburg High School.
