GREENSBURG, IN — A number of people have shown up this week outside Greensburg Community School Corporation buildings to protest the corporation’s mask mandate.

The school corporation is requiring all students and staff to wear masks in each building during school hours.

The requirement was put in place during the recent two-week online instruction period. Students and staff returned to Greensburg school buildings on Monday.

School officials say the e-learning period was instituted due to the recent jump in the number of positive COVID-19 cases and contact tracings among students and staff.

During at least one of the protests, the rock band Bon Jovi’s song “It’s My Life” could be heard playing on a loudspeaker.
