Andrew L. “Andy” Slayback

Andrew L. “Andy” Slayback, 51, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Sunday November 10, 2019 at his home in Aurora, IN surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 5, 1968 in Lawrenceburg, IN, son of the late James L. and Glorianna (Lischkge) Slayback.

He worked as a Mechanical Electrical Technician for Cincinnati Incorporated for 25 years. He was a former member of Aurora American Legion. Andy was very patriotic, and proudly served in the Army during Desert Storm in Company D 3/15TH INFANTRY. Andy was awarded 2 Bronze Stars, and The National Defense Service Medal. He was also very proud of the fact that during his time in the Army, he was Airborne Certified, and also attended Ranger school. Andy played baseball in high school and was known to be very good. His love of the sport later led him to coach his girls in softball. Fishing and hunting were a couple of pastimes that Andy enjoyed. He also enjoyed wood working and making projects for his sister Kay. Andy loved going on family vacations to Panama City Beach, Florida;19 in total. Andy loved his friends and family. Among his many friends, he especially enjoyed the time spent hanging out with Scott and Jennifer Hildebrand, and Jim “Hunk” and Denise Sedler. Completing his family is Auggie, his dog, whom Andy dearly loved. Andy was a wonderful husband and dad. He will be missed by his many friends and family.

Andrew is survived by his loving spouse of 22 years Amy M. (Bennett) Slayback, Two Daughters, Taylor Mackenzie Slayback of Aurora, IN, Remington Morgan Slayback of Aurora, IN; four siblings, Angela Kay (Tim) Whiteford of Aurora, IN, Robbie Slayback of Aurora, IN, Mark Slayback of Aurora, IN, and Matt Slayback of Aurora, IN; also brother & sister-in-laws, Brian & Cindy Artrip of Mason, OH and Kim Thomas-Solly of Cincinnati, OH.

He was preceded in death by James L. and Glorianna (Lischkge) Slayback.

Friends will be received Thursday, November 14, 2019, 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Friday at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana. Military Funeral Honors will be conducted by National Color Guard from Ft Knox, KY. and our local Veterans Service Organizations.
