All four area counties see November jobless rate dip below 2 percent

SOUTHEASTERN IN — The jobless rate in all four area counties dipped below 2 percent in November.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says Franklin and Decatur counties tied for the lowest unemployment rate in Southeastern Indiana last month at 1.6 percent.

Both counties were at 2.0 the month before.

Ripley County checked in at 1.7 percent, which was down from 2.1 in October.

And Dearborn County stood at 1.8 percent, also down from 2.1 the month before.

Last November, area jobless rates ranged from 3.5 to 4.2 percent.

Franklin County was at 3.5; Ripley County 3.7; Decatur County 3.9, and Dearborn County 4.2 percent in November 2020.
