Aliene (Moore) Stall – formerly of Sunman

Aliene (Moore) Stall, formerly of Sunman, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 27, 2018, at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville, IN.  She was 84 years old.

Aliene was born in Owsley County, Kentucky, on March 30, 1934, to Bradley and Opal (Sandlin) Moore.  She married Carl “Buck” Stall on October 19, 1951.  To this union were born two children; a daughter, Sandra Oxley, and a son, Donald Stall.

Aliene served faithfully in her church her entire life in whatever capacity was needed.  She had the gifts of service and hospitality.  You only needed to enter her home to enjoy her loving personality.  She was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, Indiana.

Aliene enjoyed gardening and preserving the fruits of her labor.  She was an excellent cook and was known to feed up to 20 people for lunch after a Sunday morning service in her home.  Her door was opened to anyone.  She had many friends who frequented her home.  Aliene had pieced and quilted many quilts over the years.  In the last few years she had embroidered at least 28 sets of pillow cases giving them as gifts to her family and friends.  She was always ready to share her home and time to anyone who was in need.  She deeply loved all of her family and loved spending time with them.  She was a faithful friend to many and will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra (Tim) Oxley of Brookville; a son, Donald (Linda) Stall of Sunman; and four grandchildren, Shantell (Chris) Bortlein, Adam (Franny) Stall, Jessica Stall, and Jennifer Stall; ten great-grandchildren, Ashley, Caitlyn, and Connor Bortlein, Kaylee and Aaron Stall, Jerry, Joey, and Jacob Reeves, and Blake and Jayden Alig.   Also surviving are siblings, Connie Cook of Batesville, Denny (Sharon) Moore and Glenda Adams, both of Sunman, and Curtis (Vivian) Moore of West Harrison, Indiana; along with a niece and two nephews.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Buck, brothers-in-law Woody Adams and Hershel Cook, and a very special nephew, Myron Cook.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 31, at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman, from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m.   Funeral services, led by Pastor Kelly Barnes, will begin at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hope Baptist Church or The Gideons International.  To sign the online guestbook or to leave a personal condolence, please visit www.cookrosenberger.com.  Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home is honored to care for the family of Aliene Stall.
